LAGC Golf Tournament Supports Family Promise
We are very excited to announce that the Lafayette Association of General Contractors has adopted Family Promise of Acadiana to be its partner in the organization's 21st Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held Friday, May 14th at Acadian Hills Country Club. As a partner, Family Promise will assist with event organization and in return, a portion of this year’s contributions will be donated to Family Promise.
The four-person scramble offers two time slots: 8 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. The $100 per player entry fee includes lunch, green fees, cart, range balls and two mulligans.

Partnership with The HUT will contribute funds to Family Promise
A partnership with a new Lafayette business will benefit the finances of Family Promise of Acadiana, a nonprofit coalition helping families without homes achieve and sustain their independence.
Family Promise will receive a portion of profits made by The HUT (Hand Up Thrift), a thrift store scheduled to open this month. Owners Joy Miguez, Jolynn Moncrief and Debbie Fischer have dedicated 20 percent of the operation's first-year profit to be distributed among three or four local nonprofit organizations. In addition, The HUT will offer merchandise vouchers and work opportunities to Family Promise guests.
Individuals can donate items to The HUT in the name of Family Promise of Acadiana. The donor will get a receipt for tax purposes, and Family Promise will receive credit for the items donated. Items accepted include clothing, furniture and general household items (no large appliances). Donations can be dropped off at The HUT, 105 Leonie St., Lafayette. Pickup of donated items can be scheduled, if necessary.
"We're very excited about this partnership," says Renee Menard, Family Promise director. "The additional income will be a tremendous aid in stabilizing our budget, and the supplemental benefits to our guest families is a great fit with our goal of helping people achieve independence."
